Usability Test & Report

The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota (WRC) began in 1979 as a student-led club within the University of Minnesota’s Veterinary College. What started as a small operation treating a handful of animals has grown into the world’s busiest wildlife hospital, now caring for over 21,000 patients each year. With such high stakes and public reliance, WRC’s website plays a critical role in providing fast, clear access to emergency wildlife care information.

WRC sought to improve the usability of its website, as it is essential for visitors to quickly access emergency medical wildlife care information. To address this, I conducted an analysis of the organization’s mission, objectives, and target audience. Based on this research, I developed a questionnaire to assess how first-time visitors navigate the site to locate emergency care resources. After gathering and analyzing the results, I identified areas for improvement in site organization and usability.

The final deliverables included a comprehensive report outlining actionable content and structural recommendations, all aimed at making WRC’s website more user-friendly and aligned with its lifesaving mission. I also designed a new letterhead to strengthen the organization’s visual identity and support future outreach efforts.
